Travel Is Good Medicine for the Soul
Think about the impact that our mind, will, and emotions have on our physical and mental health. People underestimate the crippling effects of a negative mindset. Scheduling regular vacations will help you reduce your stress levels. You get the release of the happy hormones–endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin. In essence, the worries and difficulties of life go away. Well, maybe they don’t go away, but at least a vacation can help you get away.
50 Trips in Six Years
I have been blessed with the opportunity to take over 50 trips in the last five years without having to bust the bank account. I have made friends all over the globe who are more like family now. I have discovered that in a world where it seems as if people are more divided than ever across racial, socio-economic, and political ideologies that it is possible for people of all backgrounds to work together, play together, pray together, and travel together. That’s what keeps me healthy and happy.
The Impact of Stress
The number one contributor to chronic health problems is not a poor diet as so many are led to believe. No, the greatest enemy to your health is STRESS. If you think that your once-a-year holiday is enough for you, think again. Those who take regular vacations during the course of a year have a healthier and happier life. They’re less likely to suffer many of the health complications associated with a stress-filled life. If you find yourself taking medication to support better health and/or to reduce anxiety, you may discover that traveling more might lead to you having to take less prescription medication. I have always said, “The best medication is a vacation.”
Travel Is Back
I turned 54 in December, and on my last check-up, all of my numbers were the best they have been in 15 years. The doctor asked me, “What are you doing differently?” My response, “Just living better.” I will never minimize the importance of eating right, but the best medication has been exercise and an active travel schedule. In the past six years, I have taken over 50 trips and have seen iconic cities such as Washington D.C., Miami, Orlando, Austin, Dallas, Las Vegas, New York, and Boston. I have also been on a seven-day cruise and stayed in Key Largo. This past December, I visited Cabo for the second time and stayed in an amazing resort. In June of 2021, I enjoyed a six-day trip to Planet Hollywood Resort in Cancun. This past June, our travel and lifestyle club took over the Dream Villa Magna resort in Nuevo Vallarta for an epic five days of fun, food, friends, family, and fellowship.
I get asked all the time, “How does a teacher get to travel as much as you do?” It’s a simple formula. Make travel a priority and plan accordingly. Connect with other like-minded, travel enthusiasts as I did. Our membership not only focuses on travel, but we also provide a number of other benefits including financial education and relationship coaching. Our nutritional products are some of the best and most affordable on the market. We are also empowering our members with tools to help them save money during this inflationary climate which could last for at least 18 months.
The COVID-19 pandemic took travel away from so many of us, but I am happy to announce that TRAVEL IS BACK. Today is your day to begin creating a plan to include regular vacations in your calendar. You schedule those regular doctor’s visits, don’t you? Well, if you want that next report to look better, start planning your next vacation. Put it on your calendar and start enjoying your life in ways so many travelers do.
Stress will put you in the hospital! Travel will put you on the beach!
Go see the world!
