It’s been below 35 degrees all day here in Birmingham, Alabama, and I have to admit, I’m over it. Don’t get me wrong—I love a little cold weather during the Christmas season. There’s something magical about bundling up before a fire, sipping hot cocoa or tea, and enjoying the festive chill that fits the season. But once January hits, I’m already counting down the days to spring.
One of the things I appreciate most about living in the South is the balance of our seasons. Sure, we get some cold days, but we have far more warm ones. And when summer rolls around, I’m in my element. I don’t mind the heat one bit because it’s the perfect excuse to spend time by the pool—which, let’s be honest, I do almost daily during the summer. Those lazy poolside afternoons are when I pull out my college football magazines and start dreaming about the next season.
Being a devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan, I usually grab three or four college football previews and head straight for the pages dedicated to them Dawgs. Once I’ve soaked up all the Bulldog coverage, I dive into the sections about their competition. It’s a ritual that keeps me connected to the game I love and gets me excited about the months ahead.
But I digress. My real point is this: I’m a warm-weather kind of guy. And when the cold sets in, I can’t help but start planning my next escape to somewhere sunny. That’s one of the reasons I love our club’s annual Cabo trip in December. Next year will be my sixth trip, and every time someone asks, “Why go to the same place again?” my answer is simple: It’s that good.
There’s something magical about Cabo—its breathtaking sunsets, perfect weather, the thrill of seeing whales up close, and the all-inclusive luxury of a resort that overlooks the ocean. There’s nothing like sitting on a balcony, listening to the waves, and knowing you don’t have a care in the world.
And as much as I’m looking forward to Cabo, I’m equally excited about our upcoming Jamaica trip in late May. While I’ve stopped in Jamaica a few times on cruises, this will be my first stay at an all-inclusive resort. We’ll be at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton, and from what I’ve seen in photos, it’s going to be incredible.
What makes these trips even more special is the people. Traveling with my club isn’t just about the destinations—it’s about the connections. These are my people—friends who feel like family. Sure, I could book a trip on my own anytime, but what we have in our community can’t be replicated. It’s the shared stories, the inside jokes, and the memories we create together that make these experiences unforgettable.
So, on this cold January day, I’m focusing on the warmth ahead—both in terms of weather and the incredible moments waiting to be made.
If you’re someone who loves to travel—or maybe you’re just dreaming of a way to escape the winter blues—I’d love to share more about our community. Whether you’re married, single, working, or retired, there’s a place for you here. Our club is about so much more than travel; it’s about transformation—physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts today. If you’re looking for a way to make 2025 a year of adventure, connection, and growth, feel free to reach out. I’d love to share more about what makes this community so special.
Until then, stay warm and keep dreaming of sunny skies. 🌞
Take care and God bless,
Bill
