It’s Fitness Friday. I will share with you four facts about fitness in today’s post, so here we go!
FACT #1-AN HOUR A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY.
People who are physically active for at least seven hours a week are 40 percent less likely to suffer from chronic disease, leading to premature aging and death. Regular physical activity, combined with a healthy diet, can help prevent and manage Type 2 Diabetes.
FACT #2-YOU WILL SLEEP BETTER
Regular physical exercise can help you sleep better. The most apparent way exercise helps you sleep is that it physically tires you out. Physical activity increases your need for sleep. When you have exercised, your body wants to recover, and sleep is a good way of doing that.
FACT #3-DIET ALONE WON’T HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT
Only 10 percent of the population can lose weight through diet. The National Weight Control Registry found that people who combine diet and exercise successfully kept the weight off for over one year.
FACT #4- IT ISN’T COMPLICATED
Some simple ways to get more activity in your daily routine include taking the dog for a walk, cleaning the house, doing yard work, or simply walking around while you take those phone calls. If you find yourself pinched for time, don’t let that stop you. Do something. Whether it’s 10 minutes, 30 minutes, or an hour, you have to get started today. Did you know that you can burn as many calories by walking at a brisk pace as you do when jogging? So plan to walk daily. And while you are walking, listen to a motivational podcast or an inspirational book. Improving the way we think always impacts our physical health.
