As we stand at the threshold of a new year, let’s embrace 2025 with renewed purpose, energy, and intentionality. The start of a new year is not just a date on the calendar; it’s an opportunity to reset, refocus, and realign your life with the goals and dreams that matter most. As John Maxwell once said, “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” Let’s step into 2025 as leaders of our own lives with a plan to thrive in all areas of wellness: Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, and Financial. Remember, failing to plan is planning to fail.
Here are five strategies to help you make 2025 your best year yet:
1. Prioritize Your Physical Wellness
Your body is the vehicle that carries you through life, and maintaining it should be a top priority. Start by setting achievable health goals.
Practical Steps:
- Commit to 30 minutes of physical activity daily, whether it’s walking, yoga, or strength training.
- Plan and prepare balanced meals to fuel your body with the nutrients it needs.
- Make sleep non-negotiable by aiming for 7-8 hours each night.
- Consider incorporating wellness supplements and CBD products into your routine. Supplements can fill nutritional gaps, and CBD has been shown to help with stress and improve sleep quality. Personally, I’ve experienced enhanced sleep using CBD products, which has significantly reduced my stress levels and helped me wake up feeling more refreshed. Stress and lack of sleep are leading causes of chronic diseases, so prioritizing this area is essential.

Bible Verse: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?” – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
2. Cultivate Emotional Resilience
Life is full of challenges, but emotional resilience allows us to navigate them with grace. Strengthen your emotional health by managing stress and fostering positive relationships.
Practical Steps:
- Practice gratitude daily by journaling three things you’re thankful for. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
- Limit your screen time and engage more with loved ones in meaningful conversations.
- Surround yourself with a supportive community. Join a small group at your church where people can know you deeply, pray for you, and walk alongside you in life’s journey. Being connected relationally is critical. I’ve been blessed to be part of an amazing travel club that not only provides peak-life moments but also fosters deep friendships. Over the years, this community has become family and a lifeline—a true gift from God.
- Seek professional help or counseling if you’re facing emotional hurdles.

Bible Verse: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
3. Deepen Your Spiritual Connection
True wellness involves nurturing your soul. Build a deeper connection with God and live a life aligned with His purpose for you.
Practical Steps:
- Begin each day with prayer or meditation, giving God the first part of your day. Try the 5-5-5 strategy: Spend five minutes in worship, five minutes reading the Word, and five minutes in prayer.
- Study the Bible regularly to seek wisdom and guidance. “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” – Psalm 119:105
- Participate in a 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting journey. I personally invite you to join the live stream of my church’s (Church of the Highlands) prayer services, held Monday through Friday at 6:00 a.m. These services have been transformative, offering a space to connect deeply with God and align my heart with His will.
- Join a small group within your church. Christian community is essential for growth in faith. Having people in your life who challenge and encourage you spiritually makes all the difference. “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” – Matthew 18:20
- Serve others through acts of kindness and generosity.
Bible Verse: “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33
4. Build Financial Stability
Financial wellness provides the freedom to live with peace of mind and purpose. Take charge of your finances and make 2025 a year of abundance.
Practical Steps:
- Create a budget and track your spending to ensure your money aligns with your priorities.
- Invest in personal development, like courses or books, to grow your skills and income. Our Wealth Mentor program provides education, coaching, and practical steps to teach members how to grow wealth.
- Start saving and eliminate debt systematically.
- Consider starting a home-based business. My journey with the Smart Money Club has been nothing short of life-changing. Not only has it allowed me to ramp up my travel experiences, but it has also taught me critical stewardship principles like investing. The club taught me how to invest wisely in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and discovered strategies to multiply my money. I’ve also learned about tax breaks that come with running a home business. As a teacher, inflation has made it crucial for me to find ways to make my money work for me, and the Smart Money Club has been an invaluable resource in that journey. “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.” – Proverbs 21:5
Motivational Quote: “The rich invest in time, the poor invest in money.” – Warren Buffett
5. Set SMART Goals and Take Action
Success doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of intentional planning and disciplined action. Use the SMART framework: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound goals.
Practical Steps:
- Write down your goals for each pillar of wellness and revisit them monthly.
- Break large goals into smaller, actionable steps.
- Celebrate small victories to stay motivated.
Motivational Quote: “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Bible Verse: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” – Proverbs 16:3
Final Thoughts
2025 holds incredible potential, but it’s up to you to make the most of it. As Pastor Chris Hodges always says, “This will be the best year of your life if it’s the best year spiritually.” Make Jesus your first priority in all that you do. By focusing on the Four Pillars of Wellness and aligning your life with God’s purpose, you’ll experience breakthroughs, growth, and joy.
Let’s pray together:
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of a new year. As we step into 2025, guide our hearts and minds to focus on Your purpose for our lives. Help us to grow in wellness—physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. Surround us with a loving community, give us the discipline to stay on track, and bless our efforts. We commit this year to You and trust in Your plans. May this be a year of incredible breakthroughs and blessings. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
May the Lord bless you and keep you; may His face shine upon you and give you peace. Happy New Year!
