Saturday Solutions

It’s Saturday afternoon, and if you are like most people, you are enjoying your time away from work. But as afternoon approaches evening, you probably are already feeling that sense of dread that Monday is coming. With 80 percent plus people admitting to working in a profession that is uninspiring, it begs the question, “Why is that?”

In the year 2021, opportunities abound for anyone willing to roll up his/her sleeves and go to work. The question is, “How do we connect people to work that is challenging, inspiring, and monetarily rewarding? I believe the solution is in the home-based business arena.

If you are like most people, the thought of being self-employed sounds appealing. You can choose who you want to work with, work when you want to, and in some cases, you can work from the comfort of your own home. However, for most, quitting the day job isn’t realistic in the short term. Benefits, including health insurance and retirement, cause many to “stick it out” even if the work environment is unbearable.

Here’s something to consider. How about getting started in something part-time and build it up to a full-time income. The great Jim Rohn called it the “magic of part-time.” He said there is no better story to share with prospects than this.

“I’m working full-time on my job and part-time on my fortune.”

The gig economy has created a “multiple streams of income” environment. If you only have one source of income, you are now the outlier. According to a recent McKinsey Global report entitled Independent Work: Choice, Necessity and the Gig Economy found that 162 million people in Europe and the United States—or 20 to 30 percent of those in the working-age population engage in some form of independent work.

The Jig (Gig) Is Up

Not to insult anyone’s intelligence, I think it’s essential to address this question that comes up all the time. What exactly is the GIG economy? Think about Uber and Lyft or an Amazon independent operator. These companies are perfect examples of how people create secondary sources of income through a side gig. A study by Intuit predicted that in 2020, 40 percent of American workers would have some side hustle going on to supplement their income.

Many forces are contributing to this increase. For one thing, the digital age has given birth to the mobilepreneur. If you have a connected smartphone, you can be in business. A second factor contributing to this rise is the desire of many to live debt-free. Americans paid 113 billion in credit card interest in 2018, up 12 percent from 2017. Even though the economy was soaring during that period, accrued debt was also increasing. And the coronavirus pandemic of 2020 has pushed global debt to an all-time high due to record-level unemployment. Those stimulus checks of $1200 +$600 +$1400 don’t go too far, as many have discovered.

Suppose you find yourself in a situation where you are being overwhelmed by your current debt situation. Maybe you are looking for a Plan B because you hate your job. Perhaps you desire a chance, just the possibility of building a six-figure stream of residual income. Joining the Gig economy might be a good idea. Now the question begs, “Which side hustle will offer me the most bang for my buck. If you are truly serious about living in the reality of true FINANCIAL FREEDOM, here are three questions to consider for this Saturday Solution series.

Question #1-Will a second job give me financial freedom?

The answer to that question is no. Debt is nothing more than bondage, so getting debt-free is a good feeling, and it is liberating. However, a second job is still trading time for money. As long as that is the business relationship, there is no financial freedom. As a side-note, raising the minimum wage will not close the wealth gap in our country. Teaching people how to cross over from employee to owner is the only way to close the gap.

Question #2-Will opening my own business give me financial freedom.

I know many people who own their own restaurants and retail stores. Now while this does put them into the category of entrepreneur, it’s still not financial freedom. You see, if you are a salaried or hourly employee, your job owns you. If you own a small business, you own your job. There is still a transaction of time and money with little or no possibility of building a passive residual income. Think about how hard the restaurant industry was hit in 2020 because of COVID-19. According to this article from Bloomberg, over 110,000 restaurants and bars were shuttered due to coronavirus lockdowns.

Question #3-Is there a better way?

The answer to that question is yes. But it really depends on your mindset. World-renowned author, speaker, and business coach, Robert Kiyosaki, called network marketing the business of the 21st century. Industry leader/spokesman Eric Worre has repeatedly said, “We do have a better way.”

Look at what other high-profile, successful business leaders have said about network marketing.

HARRY S. DENT. JR Economist & New York Times Best Selling Author “The advantage of Network Marketing is the ease of entry, low risk, and low startup cost. Almost everything else has very high risk.”

BRIAN TRACY Motivational Speaker & Best Selling Author

“The future of Network Marketing is unlimited. It has probably made more millionaires of more people in more countries than any other form of business starting from nothing. There’s no end in sight. It will continue to grow because better people are getting into it. It will become one of the respected business methods in the world.”

WARREN BUFFETT Billionaire Investor

“The best investment I’ve ever made.

JIM ROHN Motivational Speaker & Best Selling Author

“Network Marketing is really the greatest source of grass-root capitalism because it teaches people how to take a small bit of capital, that is your time, and build the American Dream.”

LES BROWN Motivational Speaker & TV Personality

“Network Marketing has produced more millionaires than any other industry in the history of the world.”

ANTHONY ROBBINS Motivational Speaker & Personal Life-Finance Instructor

“What’s beautiful about Network Marketing is that you’ve got all the benefits of being an owner, but you do not have to worry about supply chain, you do not have to worry about accounting, especially in the world we are today. There are really some great companies out there. Network Marketing is amazing.”

Is Network Marketing Right for Me?

We’ll address that question this coming Monday.

To your success!
