Cruise vacations are the best vacations, in my opinion. Now, there is great debate among cruise aficionados as to what constitutes the best cruise experience. Some will swear by their brand while others will shop for the best prices. There are some cruise enthusiasts who prefer the mega ships with a plethora of activities. There are others who desire a more upscale, premium cruise experience with fewer people on the ship and more perks.
I, personally, love all cruises. I have been on 12, and never once, have I had a bad experience. One of my favorite activities is the sail away party. For those of you who have never been on a cruise, the sail away party is that time of day each afternoon when the ship is about to leave port. The calypso band kicks into high gear, and the party begins on deck. People gather to watch the other ships sail away and to watch the sunset in the evening. On every cruise I have been on, this has become an every afternoon ritual that I do not miss. In fact, I plan every other activity around this one.
What I find captivating is comparing ships. As I look at all of the adventure-filled onboard activities that each ship offers, I find myself asking this question. “Does size really matter?” Many cruise lines gear themselves toward those seeking an innovative family experience on a trendy, stylish ship. In a saturated cruise market, cruise lines are continually striving to one-up the competition by consistently introducing revolutionary amenities with each new ship.
These brands are seeking to capitalize on the “WOW” factor that will excite everyone from the smallest child to the most seasoned of cruisers. Putt-putt, water slides, flow riders, and climbing walls are just the tip of the iceberg. The newest ships are offering zip lines, go-karts, ice skating, indoor skydiving, and bumper cars. The old adage, “There’s something for everyone on a cruise” has never been truer than it is today.
When exploring the different variety of cruise vacation choices, there truly is an ocean (pun intended) of options. A cruise may be the perfect plan for your next family vacation. With the different providers that are available in tbe market, you are sure to find the right experience that will meet your budget if you have a plan.
